Are you prepared for Telstra switching off POP based Mailboxes
Around 20 years ago, Australia started logging on to the internet in a big way.
Back then, I was one of those internet newbies and I distinctly remember the staccato screeching of my trusty dial-up modem as it connected me to the World Wide Web and served up pages at break-neck peak speeds of 56kbits per second!
Back then internet access plans were based on time limits, not on data use and the web was a very different looking place.
Running a Small Business back then traditionally saw Phone & Internet services tied to Telstra, back when the WWW’s were just taking off Telstra allowed businesses to have their .com.au using the included Telstra Business POP email mailboxes.
Over the years many clients have remained on these POP based services as they are included in their monthly Telstra plan.
Recently clients still on this platform have been contacted by Telstra to advise that the platform has reached retirement age.
From 20 December 2019, Telstra will be closing the Business Mail POP service.
Is your Business still on this platform? How are you prepared for moving to a new platform?
We recommend that all customers consider moving to the Microsoft® Exchange Online or Microsoft® Office 365 plans from Microsoft®. The benefits include:
- Email synchronisation across multiple devices
- Mailbox size increasing from 100MB to 50GB
- Antispam antivirus technology ( + Additional add-on from $2.97 Per Month, Per User)
- Additional functionality such as Contacts, Calendar and Notes
The suite of products will also provide a great upgrade path to richer features and services such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and much more.
