The Telecommunications Embargo Period is coming!
Telecommunications Embargo Period 2021 – 2022
What does this mean exactly?
We all need a break, and the Telco industry is no different. Every year through the holiday season there is an industry-wide embargo period where the carriers (e.g. Telstra, Optus, Vocus, TPG, NBNco etc) don’t provision certain types of new services.
All major telco carriers have an embargo period covering new activations, porting, relocations and adds/moves/changes with extended lead times. It is imperative, sufficient planning is done around this period, as all relocations, new services, and adds/moves/changes are affected.
What about my Order in progress?
Orders placed with most telcos prior to 15th December 2019 will proceed as far as possible. However depending upon the network components of these orders, completion of these orders may not occur until the embargo period has passed and in many cases weeks after the embargo period has passed as carriers work through all outstanding orders.
When does the Embargo Start and End?
This year, the annual network embargo will commence at 5:30 pm on Friday 10th December 2021 and continue through to 7:00 am on Monday 10th January 2022.
